I May Be Evil...

I work at a nursing home. Like most of these facilities we offer activities for the residents, the most popular of course is Bingo. Every single day the most frequently asked question is, "What time is Bingo today?". Anyone that interrupts Bingo does so at their own risk. It is like a religion!

Our Sunday Bingo caller left a while back for another job so Sundays have been an endless chorus of residents asking what time it starts. Whenever possible the day nurse will try and run a game for them. It doesn't always work out, and even when it does, it has to be in the afternoon due to scheduled tasks. But it is expected to be over in time for church services at 4:00.

Well, things ran a little late yesterday. I was running the game and I did let everyone know that it was time for church. Only one person left. One said she was staying because she could hear me better than she can hear the minister. Others were just having fun or were on a winning streak. And honestly, I was cornered at the far end of the room, across from the door. I just wasn't brave enough to tell them no.

Does this make me a bad person?
